SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 review

The long awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge was launched on Sunday, 21 February 2016. It was exactly all we expected it to be. But iPhone 7 is a long way from being launched. The major features of Samsung Galaxy S7 are:

• Display: 5.1in Super AMOLED 2560x1440 pixels (QHD), 577ppi (Galaxy S7 edge: 5.5in, 534ppi)
• Storage: 32GB onboard (larger capacity models MAY be available), microSD slot
• CPU and RAM: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/Samsung Exynos 8890 processor (region dependent), 4GB RAM Front Camera: 5MP
• Rear Camera: 12.2MP, f/1.7 aperture, 1.4um pixels, dual­pixel 100% phase detection sensor  IP68 water and dust proofing (1.5m submersion up to 30 minutes)
• Battery: 3,000mAh (Galaxy S7 edge: 3,600mAh) NON­removable

It looks sleeker than the S6, a better camera than S4. Both the front and the back are covered with Gorilla Glass. It has two volumes buttons sitting on one side with a clock switch on the other.

It’s a big screen, many people dislike big screens, they say it’s cumbersome, can easily drop and can’t fit into our pockets but I personally love the big screens. It has a cool experience when browsing or watching videos or playing games.

Like I said earlier on, Samsung launched two phones S7 and S7edge, the standard S7 (5.1­inch , $650-$695) and S7 edge (5.5­inch, $750-$795) both depends on the carrier with a curved display technology.

Here is the thing about smart phones, they are a lot better when the have big screens, everything we do is much better with a larger display, messaging, playing games watching videos.

Both S7 and S7 edge displays look gorgeous, with vibrant hues and punchy colors. Of course, there's also the curved design to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but S7 is not much different from S6 with its 5 inch display Squad HD and Super AMOLED ( More durable, no more plastic, just glass and aluminum (metal), both same shape and design) A little bit thicker than S6 and they both feel extremely nice in the hand. 

Samsung designed both S7 models to be both dust and water resistant. They can stay up to 30 minutes fully immersed in water; the important thing here is that you don’t have to worry about being a little clumsy like spilling your coffee when your phone is on your desk, keeping it by the sink when you’re doing dishes, calling an Uber in a rainstorm, or, worse, dropping it in the toilet when you’re a few sheets to the wind. 


Samsung isn’t the first phone company to make a water resistant phone, nor are the S7s Samsung’s first water resistant models, but it’s something that all phones, especially high­end ones, should have on their spec lists.

My only real complaint is the glass on both phones is like a rare earth magnet for fingerprints. It also makes them slippery, especially in cold weather when my skin is dry.

Samsung has made some big changes to the Galaxy S7 camera. 

For one thing, the megapixel rating has actually shrunk to 12MP, but this is a deliberate act as Samsung is instead focusing on other areas of the hardware to improve image quality. Things like a wider f/1.7 aperture, a larger 1.4um pixel size and the world's first dual­pixel sensor with 100% phase detection auto-focus. 

It has a 32GB on board Storage capacity which is higher than most phones. Larger capacity models may be available but unlike any other phone I have seen, The new Samsung 7 has a slot for microSD. The amazing thing is that if you are the type of person who needs more than 32GB storage you can now insert a microSD card up of to 200GB. No need for Bluetooth or other wireless transfers that usually takes time  to configure setup or might have compatibility issues with other phone model.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 provides a more compact, sleek and refined all-around experience. If you have about $700 to spare, you can grab one of these gadgets and my guess is you won’t be disappointed because it’s an enthralling piece of metal.
