What is the HIRIKO project?

Hiriko is a fold-able  electric car developed by Hiroko Driving Mobility. The electric car is the commercial implementation of the CityCar project developed by MIT since 2003.The name Hiriko comes from the Basque word for "urban" or "from the city".
Sales of this car is to begin  by 2014 at cost  US $16,500 plus battery leasing fee. It can travel for 120 km before recharging and weighs 500 kg
